I am “Momma” to seven beautiful, spirited children, and “Grammy” to three darling grandchildren. My sweet hubby and I have owned and operated our family business for over twenty years. I serve as the President of DHSA—a large homeschooling organization serving the state of Idaho—and I have homeschooled our family for nearly eighteen years. I am enthusiastic about families and parenting, and immerse myself in serving and loving mothers and the noble work they perform in their homes. I love offering monthly meetings for mothers, retreats, seminars, conferences, and one-on-one counseling. I write a message each month specifically for homeschooling families in the DHSA Newsletter, as well as posting messages on my blog as often as possible.
I am happy to say that I have accomplished one of my dreams; I wrote a book!!! FUNology ~ the Science of Having Fun!, This is a hands-on approach to teaching a variety of subjects and having FUN doing it! I LOVE teaching and learning so I hold classes in my home at least twice weekly for a number of families from book clubs to homeschool co-ops.
My latest and greatest exciting thing I'm doing started early last year (2012), I began studying Adlerian Parenting Theory and techniques under the direction of Vivian Brault, my beautiful mentor. I feel I have gained an immense amount of knowledge and understanding, and am grateful for the paradigm shift the Adlerian principles provide. I am so excited to share the knowledge I have received through offering parenting courses in the community. I just received the ISIP Certificate of Professional Studies in Adlerian Psychology; and am now on my way to earning my certificate through their Advanced Series. I am currently certified under Vivian Brault, MA, with an APEI (Adlerian Parent Educator Instuctor) and an APEIT (Adlerian Parent Education Instructor Trainer). I am so happy to be on this journey!!!
That's me in a nutshell...oh, I should probably add in that I eat chocolate EVERY day of my life, I sneak in bubble baths every chance I get, I love good movies and good books, I drive around the happiest, most adorable car on the road ~ a little yellow, convertible slug-bug...and love letters absolutely do it for me!!!
